D R E A M W A V E was a 6 hour long concert, performance and audiovisual experience. Drawing its inspiration from sleep concerts, vaporwave music and aesthetics and the desire to build a whole body and mind experience, it was concieved in December 2016 by third year Sound and Light Design students in a studio space in Helsinki. D R E A M W A V E consisted of highly improvised soundscapes, video projections in three pictureframes and a cloth hanging over the audience, 6 hour long painting performance, light and space installation and a video and sound installation. The audience layed themselves on the floor on large pillows and were provided with complimentary soda and popsicles. The soundsystem included basic stereo, 4-channel and 24-channel MIAP speaker configurations, which enabled spatial manipulation of the soundscapes.
