Jos seinät osaisivat puhua (If the walls could speak) was an installation that made the natural resonances of the room both visual and physical. This was achieved by playing white noise to the room, recording it, playing the recording and repeating the process. That way the room's own resonant frequencies were pronounced each round, leaving less and less of the original white noise to the signal. This can be seen as a loose homage to Alvin Luciere's I'm Sitting In A Room, which used human speech and because of that just the frequencies characteristic to the speaker. Using white noise enabled to capture the whole frequency spectrum of human hearing.
The visual part of the installation was done with fishing lines, which resonated to the base frequency of the room, moved by four special speakers. That way the "soundwaves" could not only be seen but also touched, which was encouraged.
